About Dermatology Education from AAD

American Academy of Dermatology is committed to advancing dermatology core principles and guiding diagnosis and treatment of skin disease

With a membership of more than 20,500 physicians worldwide, the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) is committed to advancing the diagnosis and medical, surgical and cosmetic treatment of the skin, hair and nails; advocating high standards in clinical practice, education and research in dermatology; and supporting and enhancing patient care for a lifetime of healthier skin, hair and nails. The organization’s education is based in the best available evidence and created by a group of experienced dermatology educators.

The AAD’s Basic Dermatology Curriculum comprises a series of online modules and videos on the core principles of dermatology for all physicians.

The Skin of Color Curriculum is intended to serve as a complete, definitive inpatient and outpatient guide for the diagnosis and effective treatment of dermatologic diseases and conditions in patients with skin of color. The primary users for the Skin of Color Curriculum are dermatology residents, practicing dermatologists and medical students rotating through a dermatology service.
