About American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine LEARN

Physicians who specialize in hospice and palliative medicine work with other doctors and health care professionals, listen to patients and align their treatments with what's important to them, and help families navigate the complex health care system. The American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine (AAHPM) is the professional organization for these physicians, as well as nurses and other health care providers who specialize in hospice and palliative care. Since 1988, AAHPM has dedicated itself to advancing hospice and palliative medicine and improving the care of patients with serious illness.

On the AMA Ed Hub, AAHPM LEARN features a variety of activities for CME credit, including the Essentials series, which offers a critical foundation for health care practitioners, both professionals and those in training, who want to incorporate principles of hospice and palliative medicine into their practice. Other activities for building professional knowledge and competence cover topics including pain management, racial and ethnic equity in hospice and palliative care, psychotherapy best practices and more.
