The unprecedented, rapid advances in genetic and genomic knowledge, information and technologies have made it challenging for primary care and other nongenetics health care providers to stay current on clinical genetics.
To address this education gap for nongenetics providers, and to help effectively integrate advances into primary and specialty health care, the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ACMG) has created an online accredited continuing education series of activities, “ACMG Genetics101 for Healthcare Providers.” This series will include modules on Key Principles in Pharmacogenomics, Neurogenetics, Prenatal Genetics, Genetics for the Primary Care Provider and more. In each module of this series, a board-certified medical genetics expert provides a case-based presentation, along with supporting reading materials.
