1. Recognize key features that distinguish decisions that involve pediatric patients from decisions by or for adult patients
2. Describe key factors to consider when assessing what is in the pediatric patient's best interest
3. Apply best practices in order to make ethically sound decisions in situations involving pediatric patients

Decision-making when the patient is a minor is often fundamentally different than when the patient is an adult. This e-learning CME module explores that distinction in order to help physicians learn how to approach these cases effectively. Topics include recognizing how decision-making in these cases differ from those involving adult patients and what nonclinical factors to consider when assessing best interest.
