Current Procedural Terminology (CPT®) is a listing of descriptive terms and identifying codes for reporting medical, surgical and diagnostic services and procedures performed by physicians and other qualified health care professionals. It is developed and maintained by the American Medical Association (AMA).
This lesson covers the basic structure, components, format, and usage of the CPT Categories I, II, and III code sets. The purpose of this activity is to provide the user with a high-level overview of CPT and to prepare a foundation for future learning.
