Abstract

Clinical Examples in Radiology (CER) online newsletter is provided for coding professionals to test their knowledge based on review of relevant modern case studies. In this issue: 1) learn how to code in the case of a patient with a three-week history of abdominal pain, weight loss, and fever who now undergoes an upper gastrointestinal and small bowel study; 2) Apply coding techniques in the case of a 10-year-old female with a renal transplant presenting with suspected renal infection; 3) In the Documentation Challenge identify the proper codes and procedures to report when an 11-year-old male with papilledema associated with increased intracranial pressure undergoes a lumbar puncture with fluoroscopic guidance; and 4) the radiology test in this issue highlights a case of a 16-year-old female with a history of thyroid cancer, status post thyroidectomy with possible metastases who is now having a thyroid scan with SPECT/CT.
