Abstract

CER Spring 2020 - Clinical Examples in Radiology (CER) online newsletter is provided for coding professionals to test their knowledge based on review of relevant modern case studies. In this issue learn how to code in the case of a male patient with history of cardiac sarcoid with worsening left ventricular (LV) dysfunction and recurrent episodes of ventricular tachycardia/ventricular fibrillation who is now being assessed for progression of sarcoidosis. A myocardial metabolic evaluation with a PET/CT study is performed. Apply coding techniques in the case A 61-year-old female with dysphagia and protein-calorie malnutrition for whom a percutaneous gastrostomy catheter placement is performed. In the documentation challenge, identify the proper codes to report a transvaginal pelvic ultrasound and Doppler. The radiology test in this issue highlights a case of a 73-year-old male with a history of a bile duct leak now having a percutaneous transhepatic cholangiogram, biliary drain placement, and bile duct embolization. Dive deeper into these cases and challenge your coding skills with the Spring 2020 issue of Clinical Examples in Radiology.
