Abstract

Clinical Examples in Radiology (CER) online newsletter is provided for coding professionals to test their knowledge based on review of relevant modern case studies. In this issue learn how to code in the case of a patient who had myocardial perfusion positron emission tomography with computed tomography (PET/CT) scan with absolute quantitation of myocardial blood flow (AQMBF) for chest pain. Apply coding techniques to a case in which a 51-year-old female with new, spontaneous, bloody nipple discharge from a single duct in the left breast and recent normal mammogram and ultrasound. In the documentation challenge, identify the proper codes to report for a 32-year-old female with lower abdominal pain for which a complete transabdominal pelvic ultrasound and transvaginal ultrasound with duplex Doppler was performed. The radiology test case in this issue highlights the performance of a bilateral percutaneous sacral vertebroplasty using fluoroscopic guidance for a 66-year-old male with osteoporosis and a painful sacral insufficiency fracture. Dive deeper into these cases and challenge your coding skills with the Fall 2022 issue of Clinical Examples in Radiology.
