This module provides learners with a review of leadership concepts and skills that emphasize collaboration and partnership within organizations and across sectors to advance health equity.

This module draws on a wide evidence base of collective impact models and organizational development to describe leadership and partnership approaches that create a culture of authentic collaboration and community engagement. Learners will understand strategies and concrete steps to build capacity for greater value and impact through collaborative leadership, cross-sector partnerships and collective action.

This is module five of the six-part Upstreamist Core Competencies Series.

Accreditation

In support of improving patient care, this activity is planned and implemented by The National Center Office of Interprofessional Continuing Professional Development (National Center OICPD) and HealthBegins. The National Center OICPD is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

As a Jointly Accredited Provider, the National Center OICPD is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. The National Center OICPD maintains responsibility for this course. Social workers completing this course receive continuing education credits.

The National Center OICPD (JA#: 4008105) is approved by the Board of Certification, Inc. to provide continuing education to Athletic Trainers (ATs).

This activity was planned by and for the healthcare team, and learners who request it will receive Interprofessional Continuing Education (IPCE) credit for learning and change.

Physicians: This activity will be designated for .5 CME AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ through ACCME.

Nurses: This activity will be designated for .5 CNE nursing contact hours through ANCC.

Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians: This activity will be designated for .5 CPE contact hours (.05 CEUs) through ACPE.

Social Workers: This activity will be designated for social work continuing education credits through ASWB.

Athletic Trainers: The National Center OICPD (JA#: 4008105) is approved by the Board of Certification, Inc. to provide continuing education to Athletic Trainers (ATs). This program is eligible for a maximum of .5 Category A hours/CEUs. ATs should claim only those hours actually spent in the educational program.

Other health professionals: This activity was planned by and for the healthcare team, and learners who request it will receive .5 Interprofessional Continuing Education (IPCE) credit for learning and change.
