Free evidence-based curricula from Innovating Education in Reproductive Health, a project of the Bixby Center for Global Reproductive Health
Innovating Education in Reproductive Health (IERH) is a project of the Bixby Center for Global Reproductive Health at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) that generates, curates and disseminates free curricula and learning tools about sexual and reproductive health, including abortion, in order to transform health professions education. Covering a wide range of sexual and reproductive health topics—health equity, abortion, early pregnancy loss, gender-affirming abortion care, long-acting reversible contraception (LARC), counseling and more—These curricula establish patient-centered sexual and reproductive health as a normal part of health care and cover the myriad factors that impact people’s ability to achieve reproductive autonomy and well-being.
IERH education on the AMA Ed Hub includes free video modules and learning activities on such topics as prescribing emergency contraception and advancing equity and justice in sexual and reproductive health care. Available for CME credit, these activities are intended for health professionals at all levels of training and across disciplines. Learners will gain an understanding of topics often minimized or excluded from health professions training. IERH’s aim is to train future physicians and providers to deliver patient-centered, evidence-based, comprehensive sexual and reproductive health care—free of stigma, discrimination and coercion—and to normalize abortion as a part of comprehensive health care.
