This e-learning module, including video, offers 0.75 hours of instruction and is intended to increase awareness and understanding among physicians of the All of Us Research Program, led by the National Institutes of Health, and a cornerstone of the larger Precision Medicine Initiative. All of Us is an ambitious effort to gather data from one million or more people living in the United States, reflecting the broad diversity of this country. Participants will form a longitudinal research cohort conducted over many years intended to improve our ability to prevent and treat disease based on individual differences in lifestyle, environment, and biological make-up. Physicians, and other health care providers who have ongoing patient relationships, are viewed as key partners in helping to ensure the eventual success of this program. Learners will be better able to engage in discussions with patients about the program, address questions about enrollment and its operation, and become familiar with their role.
