Precision Medicine for Your Practice: Genomic Testing for the Healthy Individual

Learning Objectives
1. Identify patient motivators to enable decisions regarding genomic testing
2. Facilitate interpretation of genomic test results from a wide range of test types, including those with lower clinical validity and utility
0.5 Credit CME

Precision Medicine for Your Practice is a series of short (20-30 min), online modules covering specific topics in genomics and precision medicine. In this module, learn how to elicit patient motivations for genomic testing and assess if a particular genomic test is a good fit for their concerns. The content presented will help providers understand the benefits and limitations of different types of genomic tests, know what types of information are available from different types of tests, and increase provider awareness of resources available to help interpret and prioritize results from genomic testing. There are five parts of the module: overview via an animated video; practice cases to facilitate learning-by-doing; “dig deeper” for more in-depth topics; logistics; and additional resources for more detail.
