Trends in Views of Articles Published in 3 Leading Medical Journals During the COVID-19 Pandemic

The COVID-19 pandemic is changing the peer review, publication, and readership of scientific articles.13 The scientific community has voiced concern that the focus on COVID-19 adversely affects dissemination of research into other diseases.4,5 Recently, the number of article views has been recognized as a metric for article impact.6 In this study, we sought to assess the trends in views of articles published in 3 leading medical journals during the pandemic.
