Osmotic Demyelination Syndrome From Rapid Sodium Correction Causing Acute Parkinsonism

Segment 1 (day 5 of illness): severe parkinsonism and akinetic mutism were present. Segment 2 (week 6 of illness): parkinsonian features improved with treatment with levodopa but still were of moderate severity.
