Conference Presentation: Effect of a Low vs Intermediate Tidal Volume Strategy on Ventilator-Free Days in Intensive Care Unit Patients Without ARDS: A Randomized Trial

In this randomized trial, a low tidal volume strategy did not result in a greater number of ventilator-free days than an intermediate tidal volume strategy in ICU patients without ARDS who were expected not to be extubated within 24 hours of randomization. Marcus Schultz, MD, PhD, of Academic Medical Center in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, presents findings from the PReVENT trial at the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine (ESICM) 31st Annual Congress, LIVES 2018, on October 24 in Paris.
