Ventricular Shape Patterns in Young Adults Born Small for Gestational Age vs Control Patients

In a cohort of young adults born small for gestational age (SGA) who had reduced exercise capacity compared with non-SGA controls, ventricular shape analysis defined distinctive regional cardiac shape patterns underlying the observed functional differences.

This video illustrates how the shape of the heart changed from the lowest (most normal) to the highest (most SGA) biventricular remodeling score and that individuals with higher remodeling scores more representative for SGA had an enlarged and more curved right ventricular outflow tract and a flattened basal septum.
