Shortening a Long Clear Corneal Incision

Viscoelastic is inserted into the intrastromal tunnel. A paracentesis blade is used to make downward vertical incisions at the lateral walls of the tunnel, creating the posterior corneal tongue and effectively shortening the incision length.
