Online Courses for Kansas CME Requirements

Kansas State Continuing Medical Education (CME) Requirements

    • Credit amount: Kansas requires MDs and DOs to earn 50 hours of CME training per licensure cycle, with a minimum of 20 Category 1 CME hours.
    • Licensure cycle: Annual—expiring Aug. 1 for MDs and Oct. 31 for DOs.
    • Topics: As of February 2021, the Kansas Board of Healing Arts does not have specific topical requirements. It allows physicians to self-select topics around which they can earn CME and meet licensure requirements.
    • The state CME requirements listed above were accurate when posted, but CME state requirements change frequently. Due to COVID-19, certain states may have modified their licensure requirements. Physicians are advised to confirm requirements with the Kansas Board of Healing Arts (KSBHA).

Get email alerts with new AMA Ed Hub activities that meet your state requirements. Sign up in your account interests section of the AMA Ed Hub.

There are no topic requirements for this state, so physicians licensed to practice in Kansas can select from a wide range of AMA Ed Hub CME topics and activities. Our courses are entirely online. Simply review the activity then successfully complete the accompanying quiz to earn CME credits.

Selected CME modules have been curated to create featured courses on trending topics. Our online CME is available in text, video and audio/podcast formats. Featured courses include:

The KSBHA is the state’s governing body for CME and medical license requirements. Their mission is to:

“safeguard the public through licensure, education and discipline of those who practice the healing arts in Kansas.”
The KSBHA website has additional information, including: frequently asked questions, license renewal and more.
