This “beyond the basics” 1-hour course on gender-affirming surgeries identifies the sources of standards of care for gender-affirming care, the common surgical procedures for transgender people, and the considerations providers should have when considering if their patients are appropriate candidates for gender-affirming surgical care. This course fills a gap in understanding the medical, behavioral health, and social considerations for providers with transgender patients who are interested in gender-affirming surgeries.
